Curious about thinning lashes?  Grow your own lush lashes without the harmful effects of damaging extensions with Latisse® in as little as 4-8 weeks.

What Is Latisse® Solution?

Latisse® Solution is the first FDA approved prescription treatment to help grow upper eyelid lashes longer, fuller, and darker.  Latisse® is applied daily to the upper eyelid lash line to help significantly grow and more than double lash fullness in as little as 8 weeks.

How Does Latisse Work?

Latisse® was initially discovered for it’s potential to grow lashes when researchers were working with its main ingredient, bimatoprost, as a glaucoma medication.  Although researchers don’t know exactly how Latisse® works, it’s believed to increase the percentage of hairs in the active growth phase, as well as make the active growth phase longer.

How Long Before I See results With Latisse®?

Latisse® solutions works gradually.  While you may start seeing longer lashes after 4 weeks, you must use Latisse® daily for 16 weeks for maximum results. Do not reduce or stop daily application of Latisse® when you first notice results.  After 16 weeks talk to your doctor about ongoing use. Individual results will vary.

How Do I Use Latisse® Solution?

Latisse® Solution is a prescription product applied to the upper eyelash line nightly at home.  The area where the solution is applied must be cleaned and your face should be washed and devoid of any makeup or creams, and contact lens removed.  A sterile, disposable applicator tip is provided in the kit and one drop of the Latisse® solution is placed closest to the tip of the applicator.  The applicator is then used to carefully draw the solution at the base of the upper eyelashes, going from the inner part of your lash line to the outer part.  Any excess solution can be blotted with a tissue.  The applicator tip is then disposed of after one use.  Repeat with the opposite eyelid with a new sterile applicator tip to help minimize any potential for contamination from one eyelid to another.

How Long Do I Need to Use Latisse®?

The results of Latisse® remain only as long as the product is used.  It must be applied every day in the initial 16 weeks of treatment in order to see the maximum results of your eyelash growth.  After the initial 16 weeks of treatment, patients normally cut back on their daily regimen of using Latisse® and use it 2-3 times a week to maintain their results.  However, recommendations from Allergan are to continue with daily use of Latisse®.  Talk to your doctor to determine what is the best maintenance regimen for you.  It is important to remember, that Latisse® is meant to be used continuously, and once treatment stops, you can expect your lashes to return to their pre-treatment appearance.

Is Latisse® Right For Me?

Only your doctor can recommend if Latisse® is right for you.  Talk to your doctor if you have previously been diagnosed with eye pressure problems, are currently taking medications for eye pressure problems, have risk factors for glaucoma, have an undiagnosed eyelid condition, or have had recent eye surgery.  If you still have questions regarding Latisse®, call Nu Yu for a free consultation with the doctor to discuss if Latisse® is right for you.
